Pleasantly situated overlooking the duck pond in the pretty 'Wolds' village of North Dalton, these attractive, comfortably furnished Georgian cottages provide an ideal base for exploring the area. The cottages enjoy shared use of an outdoor swimming pool, hard tennis court and a walled orchard garden, and there is a superb pub serving food 25 yards away. Walkers will enjoy the local footpaths including the 'Minster Way' and 'Wolds Way' and dogs are allowed to exercise on designated farm fields. The duck pond opposite the cottages supports a variety of wild life and the surrounding area is home to a wealth of scenic and historic places of interest.
The great house of Sledmere and Burton Agnes are both within 10 miles as is the watersports centre at Brandesburton. Castle Howard, the magnificent setting for TV's Brideshead Revisited and Goathland, the setting for TV's Heartbeat, are both within 1 hour's drive. The Deep in Hull, Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, Pickering with the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, Bridlington's sandy bay, RSPB Bempton Cliffs and the historic city of York with excellent shopping, medieval architecture, railway museum and the fascinating Jorvik Centre, are all about 20 miles away. Touring the unspoilt Yorkshire Wolds by car is a pleasure in itself. Golf, 7 miles. There are several excellent pubs in the area serving food. Nearest shops 2 miles.
